New Requirements from the Danish Transport Authority
New Requirements from the Danish Transport Authority for Air Cargo and Mail
From 1 September 2025, new regulations from the Danish Transport Authority will take effect regarding the handling, acceptance, and screening of air cargo and mail. These requirements apply to all industry operators and aim to strengthen security in the transport chain.
Stricter documentation and screening requirements
All shipments must be accompanied by more detailed documentation. Especially shipments containing both electronics and liquids, aerosols, or gels (LAGs) will be subject to enhanced screening. To avoid delays, we recommend sending these items separately.
Shipments that do not comply may be classified as High Risk Cargo and Mail (HRCM) or rejected for air transport.
Risk assessment and EBR
All operators must conduct internal risk assessments for their air cargo and mail handling processes.
A new central requirement is the use of the Established Business Relationship (EBR) concept – a documented business relationship between all parties in the transport chain, from shipper to freight agent.
Confirmation of EBR in the transport chain
Jetpak Danmark Air & Logistics ApS will request confirmation of an EBR between all actors prior to us in the chain, for each shipment.
Example: If a customer (A) uses a forwarder (B), and Jetpak (C) acts as freight agent, we will require documentation of the relationship between A and B, as well as between B and C.
If no EBR exists, we are required to implement additional security measures – typically handling the shipment as HRCM or subjecting it to enhanced screening.
An EBR template must be completed for each shipment and sent to KS@jetpak.dk.
Detailed content descriptions required
Generic terms such as “samples” or “spare parts” are no longer sufficient. All shipments must include a precise and detailed description of the content.
Focus on cooperation and process optimization
We acknowledge that these requirements may change your current routines. We are therefore working to make the process as smooth as possible in close dialogue with our customers and partners.
